The Challenge
In 2005 Key Control Services was appointed to provide security services to protect AMERICANA’s large warehouse facility in Salford which stocks thousands of pounds worth of designer label clothing. In the past, AMERICANA have experienced attempted burglaries and on some occasions merchandise has been stolen by employees. As a result, the company wanted reliable and robust security arrangements to protect their buildings, contents and staff from intruders and burglaries.

The Solution
Key Control Services initially carried out a detailed security audit and recommended a package of tailored security services to cover day and night time requirements, site access, deliveries and staff surveillance. During the day-time a minimum of two manned officers are on duty. A key holding service with rapid alarm response ensures incidents are dealt with immediately and regular random staff searches now deter and detect any internal theft.

Key Control Services also double up the security during emergency periods - such as flooding – to provide 24/7 emergency cover until normal conditions return.

The Results
The Warehouse Manager now feels confident the site is secure and the security profile acts as an effective deterrent against crime and internal theft. The random checks on staff have been very effective. On occasions, Key Control Services have even provided extra security officers to oversee staff dismissals, often at very short notice.

Case Study - FRENKEL TOPPING

The Challenge
In 2001 Key Control Services was appointed to protect FRENKEL Topping’s office building at Merchants Quay in Salford Quays. The building is located close to the Orsdall residential estate and has been targeted by vandals and criminals on a number of occasions.

Prior to using Key Control Services, FRENKEL Topping employed a local company to provide evening security cover and alarm response services. However, the directors were dissatisfied with the quality of officers provided. Furthermore, the directors were fed up being called out during the night each time the alarms were activated. They decided to look for a more reliable and professional security firm and turned to Key Control Services for help.

The Solution
On appointment, Key Control Services undertook a detailed security audit and crime risk assessment, and recommended a package of security services which included: Key Holding, Alarm Response, Front of House Manned Guarding from 4:30pm to 7:00pm, Open Up and Lock Up services, Temporary Mobile Patrols during building repair work and DX handling legal postage services.

The Results
The directors of FRENKEL Topping were delighted with the results. Since Key Control Services took over the contract, there have been no major issues or security problems. The directors no longer have to respond to night-time alarm activations and the staff feel very well looked after.
